Dr. Touseef Amna is working as Professor (Associate) of Microbiology at Al-Baha University, Saudi Arabia. Earlier she has served as Assistant professor, Research professor and Senior Lecturer at Chonbuk National University (CBNU) South Korea.
She has been ranked among the World’s Top 2% Scientists based on Stanford and Elsevier Data consecutively for past 3 years.
Dr. Amna received her PhD in 2006 from Aligarh Muslim University (AMU, Central University), India in Microbiology. During her PhD she worked as Senior research fellow at Indian Institute of Integrative Medicine CSIR in an Indo-German collaborative project and was able to isolate Camptothecin, a vital anticancer drug, from an endophytic fungus. This groundbreaking discovery, the first of its kind globally, has led to US patent and specific publications.
Throughout her research career, she was afforded advanced academic opportunities, including postdoctoral scientist position at University of Dortmund, Germany; Universidad de Talca, South America; CBNU, South Korea; and the Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR), India. Additionally, she has been a recipient of numerous prestigious awards and research grants, further underscoring her distinguished contributions to the scientific community.
She has two patents (US patent and Korean) to her credit, authored one book, 18 chapters and more than 100 research articles with current h-index 34 and i10-index-72. Most of her articles have been published in journals ranked in Quartile1 and Quartile 2, and her work has accumulated a total citation of 4,650 to date.
She is Editor, certified reviewer, Guest Editor and Editorial board member of various national and international journals of repute.
Her research interest consists of design and synthesis of micro/nano biocompatible scaffolds for biomedical and environmental applications.
